This may come as a surprise, but I do not always like to eat out at restaurants. At the same time, however, I also do not always have time to prepare something at home. Recently, I discovered a meal delivery service called Factor 75 and I had to try it out.
At the heart of Factor 75 is the medical research which shows that 75% of your fitness results come from what you eat. Therefore, each of Factor 75’s meals are nutrient-dense, and are tailored to personal preferences, dietary restrictions, and lifestyles. Factor 75 is not a diet, but rather a supplement to a healthy lifestyle.
Factor 75 meals are designed by nutritionists, doctors, and chefs, and include a significant amount of lean proteins, a healthy amount of low glycemic carbs, and a substantial amount of healthy fat.
Meals are customizable, and are simply ordered from the Factor 75 website. After choosing a delivery date, meals are delivered to your home or office in temperature-controlled packaging. Stored in the refrigerator, meals will last 4-6 days. Each meal is individually packed with full nutrition information and, if necessary, reheating instructions. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack meals are all offered. I chose three fully vegetarian meals which were delivered to my office.
The first meal that I enjoyed was the quinoa summer salad, made with tiger striped quinoa, grilled radicchio, baby arugula, fresh mint, basil, and seasoned garbanzo beans. The flavors were wonderful, and while the meal is light and refreshing, it kept me full until dinner. I would definitely order this salad again.
The next day, I tried the vegetarian burrito bowl, made with sweet potato, quinoa, and black, great northern, and kidney beans, mixed with brown rice, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, and corn. Instead of sour cream, a chipotle-flavored Greek yogurt is served on the side, in addition to shredded cheddar cheese. This burrito bowl was delicious, especially when served with the spicy yogurt. This was my favorite of the three meals that I tried.
Finally, I also tried the eggplant coconut curry. served with cabbage, carrots, cashews, and currants. Stewed together in a curry sauce made with coconut milk and curry powder, the presentation of this meal was the least attractive, but it was delicious. I typically prefer a spicier curry rather than a creamier one, but the coconut was not too sweet.
Overall, I was quite pleased with Factor 75. The meals offered are creative, healthy, and delicious, and the ease of ordering and preparation cannot be beat. Factor 75 definitely takes the guess work out of meal planning, and the system is perfect for busy people, or those who do not enjoy grocery shopping or cooking. Prices are also reasonable, with no meal over $14.95, delivery is free, and there are no contracts to sign. I have never used a meal delivery service before, but after trying Factor 75, I am going to start.
While my meals were complimentary, all opinions expressed herein are my own.
