Chritiques’ Wellness Week is wrapping up today with a recap of a fantastic full-day health and wellness extravaganza called Be Healthful.
This past weekend, Be Healthful took place at Moonlight Studios, a wonderful event space located in the West Loop neighborhood of Chicago. I absolutely loved the contrast of the raw warehouse space against the chic chandeliers.
From 10:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., attendees were able to attend workshops and lectures, as well as nine different yoga, pilates, barre, meditation, and ballet classes.
Spa services and wellness consultations were also available, in addition to numerous food and beverage tastings, giveaways, and demonstrations.
Be Healthful is the brainchild of Sarah Baker, a holistic health, nutrition, and image consultant at Style, Body, Soul LLC, and The Balanced Babe. Eight months in the making, Be Healthful had a full house of over 400 attendees, eager to take yoga with Exhale Spa, to hear Karyn Calabrese speak, and to have everything from vegan manicures to acupuncture treatments from the numerous vendors on site.
I took full advantage of the opportunities and spent the whole day at the Retreat. I took yoga classes with Yoga Six and Yoga Loft, pilates with Flex Pilates, a barre class with The Barre Code, and, saving the best for last, a ballet class with Abigail Simon of the Joffrey Ballet.
After my classes, I enjoyed an oxygen facial from Leah Chavie Skincare Center, a massage and posture assessment from Sphere Holistic Sports Medicine, and had my hair done by Starship Salon. Whole Foods, Prasino, Element Wellness, Kitchfix, and others, were all on hand sampling food and juices, as well.
I left the retreat feeling energized, refreshed, and restored. I absolutely loved my time there and wish I could do it every weekend. I am sure it will become an annual event, and I cannot wait to attend again.
