Wicker Park, Tacos

Where Will You Be Celebrating Cinco de Mayo?!?

One of my favorite days of the year – Cinco de Mayo – is already next week. Where is this year going?!? I could eat tasty guacamole and tacos and drink refreshing margaritas every day of the year, but it is non-negotiable on Cinco de Mayo – especially when it falls on Taco Tuesday! Here is a run down of some of my favorite spots for chips, guac, and margs. Where will you be celebrating?

Antique Taco – Located in Wicker Park, must haves include the chips and guacamole with a ton of lime juice, Antique Taco salad, any of the special tacos, and the incredible horchata milk shake!

Taco Joint – With two locations (River North and Lincoln Park), my favorites include the grapefruit margarita, rojo guacamole, and the ceviche tacos.

Tallboy Taco – Located in the former bar space of Nacional 27 is this casual taco spot from Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants. Strong margaritas, a self-serve chips and salsa bar, and tasty fish tacos can all be found at this River North spot.

Velvet Taco – This new addition to the taco scene in Chicago comes to us from Texas, and brings with it some drool-worthy tater tots topped with a local egg, slushy margaritas, and really creative and flavorful tacos that you will not find anywhere else!

BIG & Little’s – It is not a Mexican restaurant, but the fish tacos here are amazing! Outdoor patio tables, reasonable prices, and a casual atmosphere make this spot – with locations in River North and Lakeview – a must try.

Other favorites include Xoco, Frontera, Big Star, Mercadito, and De Cero. Salud!

Tastefully,

I will be hosting a cinco de mayo celebration for seniors. It was hit last year so I’m hoping for a repeat!
